The PathSolutions TotalView Service installs on a Windows server (or workstation acting as a server) and can be viewed from web browsers on the network. The TotalView deployment will usually reside in a shared-server or virtual-server environment, or on a cloud hosted server.
Server Requirements:
The system requirements vary depending on the size of your network. Keep in mind that as your network grows, you may need to increase the base system requirements. If you enable NetFlow collection your diskspace requirements will go up by 10-20%
Virtual Server Requirements:
Running the solution on a virtual server is fully supported for deployments below 100,000 interfaces. The server should be configured with a fixed (static) MAC address for licensing purposes.
Cloud Server Requirements:
Cloud deployments are fully supported. SNMP and SSH access to the network devices is required. Typically, a VPN tunnel from the cloud server to the premise is used for this.
Service Account Requirements:
A Windows Domain Service Account is Required for Active Directory Authentication, DHCP/IPAM Integration and Server Monitoring:
Note: The TotalView service account must also be a Local Administrator on TotalView Host
Security Requirements:
TotalView will install with a Self-Signed Certificate configured on the Web UI. It is recommended that you create or use an existing certificate to have secure end to end Client-Server Communication. It is also recommended to enable Integrated or Active Directory Authentication to secure access to TotalView Information
Client System Requirements:
The TotalView Web UI is accessible via all Modern Web Browsers.
Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer is not supported.
