About Tim Titus’ Presentation
Any network engineer is able to recognize a bad VoIP call. The hard part is figuring out where and why those calls failed on the corporate network. In this session, Tim Titus, CTO of PathSolutions and VoIP network performance management expert, will discuss the following key areas that will help network/telecom managers better understand and identify the root cause of a VoIP quality issues:
- The five most common VoIP network problems that result in poor quality calls.
- Why telephony-related statistics, such as latency, jitter, packet loss and MOS scores, are only symptoms of an underlying network problem.
- How to manage a VoIP network to derive optimal performance.
The quality of an organization’s VoIP deployment hinges on the stability and performance of its network. This session will show users how to achieve optimal VoIP call quality so that their business users never experience a bad call again.
Tim Titus has more than 20 years of corporate IT and networking experience. Previously, he worked as Director of IT at DecisionPoint Software, where he was tasked with providing broad-based IT solutions to help fuel the company’s growth. Previously Titus served as Director of Internet Operations for CPA2Biz., a B2B Internet storefront that provides services for the AICPA. During his tenure there Titus helped grow the company’s platform to include new services that dramatically reduced IT expenditures. Prior to that, his Internet experience was forged creating Computer Curriculum Corporation’s first Internet based training platform: SuccessMaker Internet. He has also taught college-level networking courses both in basic network configuration and advanced network design.
